Body Image and Eating Concerns
It can be hard to have a non-negative relationship with your body and with eating when we live in a dominant culture of disordered body image and eating. A culture that encourages body positivity and acceptance, but also privileges thinness and stigmatizes larger bodies. A culture that sends mixed and confusing messages about eating such as, low-fat, low-carb, keto, paleo, intermittent fasting, to name a few. This culture, and our intersecting identities and personal histories, impact us in unique ways.
If you find yourself thinking more than you would like about food, about what to eat (or not eat), or about eating too much or too little. Or if you find yourself feeling negatively towards your body shape, size, or weight, we can create a therapeutic space together to explore, understand, and work towards a more peaceful relationship with your body and with eating.
*If upon further discussion, we agree that your concerns are not appropriate for outpatient treatment, we will discuss referrals and resources for more intensive and integrated services or programs.
